The only phone accessory I’d happily use is a cute charm but they don’t make American phones with the loop hole anymore. So disappointing.
My IG ads tell me phone charms are making a comeback, but all of the implementations are janky. You can buy a case that has the loop hole, or you can buy a charm and loop it through the ring/silent switch hole on a phone case.
As an iPhone user I’ve long resented the need to buy a case on top of the extremely expensive device which promises sleek design and new levels of indestructibility with every release. But when I got my new phone a few months ago, I let my mom buy me a Casetify case. I used it for a while and hated it. I abandoned it a few weeks ago (sorry Mom.)
That was right around when my left rib got put in its place thanks to overhead double tricep extensions with Rad Lopez. (He’s from the Bronx!) It’s been miraculous discovering how capable the rest of my left side is. With the help of some other exercises I will write about another day, my left knee, which used to pop regularly, pops less now. My left foot, which is flatter than my right, is actually getting better at holding its arch — I can tell from how much more mobility I have in my hip and how much easier it is to activate my leg.
But the latest move to truly flip my life around was this downward dog pushup:
I almost busted my teeth on the floor the first few times because my left wrist kept popping / slipping in an alarming (but not painful) way.
That’s when I realized the move was exposing, and correcting, my phone pinkie.
When I got out of bed the next day and stood up, I could feel both my arms just dangling from the sockets like they’re (probably) supposed to: no neck pain or jaw tension, no caved in shoulder, no wrist or forearm pain from not being able to properly activate my tricep. Bodies are amazing. I said it before and I’ll say it again, use it or lose it!
Now I need to break the phone pinkie habit for good. I hope I don’t end up dropping my case-less phone in the process.
